Between his seeming refusal to cooperate with UFC expectations for promoting fights and his often standoffish personality, sometimes it’s hard to judge how much Diaz (26-9 MMA, 7-6 UFC) actually enjoys being a professional fighter. The subject of his desire came up while meeting with the media on Thursday, a day after he missed the UFC 183 open workouts. Diaz was asked if he fights because he has to or because he wants to. “For me I don’t look at MMA as a career,” Diaz explained.
