LAS VEGAS – After missing weight by four pounds, John Lineker needed a win over Ian McCall just to climb out of the UFC’s doghouse before being banished to bantamweight. After a rocky first round against McCall (13-5-1 MMA, 2-3-1 UFC), Lineker (25-7 MMA, 6-2 UFC) rebounded with a fury, earning a unanimous decision victory (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) with his aggressive performance in the final two frames. The catchweight bout (Lineker weighed in at 130 pounds) was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC 183 event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
