Ed Herman Ed Herman knows your first reaction will be to laugh or roll your eyes, but if you give him a few minutes, he’ll explain why he’s a bad matchup for former UFC middleweight champion and perhaps the greatest fighter in MMA history, Anderson Silva . Herman (22-10 MMA, 9-7 UFC), “The Ultimate Fighter 3″ runner-up who’s entering his 10th year with the promotion, returns tonight at UFC 183, where he meets Derek Brunson (12-3 MMA, 3-1 UFC) in a FOX Sports 1-televised bout at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. As a 5-1 (+500) underdog, Herman faces the most lopsided odds on tonight’s lineup, which includes a pay-per-view main card. And Herman knows matchmakers may be setting him up as a sort of measuring stick for the up-and-coming Brunson. Herman, of course, is no stranger to such a role. He’s served it before, both in and out of the UFC
