Donald Cerrone Donald Cerrone has earned fame for his willingness to make quick turnarounds and fight on short notice. He said he applauds new UFC 187 opponent John Makdessi for doing the same. Cerrone (27-6 MMA, 14-3 UFC) was left without an opponent for less than 24 hours after news broke that original opponent Khabib Nurmagomedov was forced out of UFC 187 due to injury . After much speculation and offers from several lightweights to step up, Makdessi (13-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) accepted the fight . Makdessi will return to the octagon exactly four weeks after his first-round knockout of Shane Campbell at UFC 186 in Montreal. The bout marked his return from a 13-month layoff and fourth victory in his past five octagon appearances
