Filed under: News , UFC , Videos LAS VEGAS – Thomas Almeida was expected to face the stiffest test of his young career when he faced off with Brad Pickett to kick off the main card of UFC 189. The bantamweight bout certainly played out that way with Pickett (24-11 MMA, 4-6 UFC) tagging Almeida (20-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) repeatedly in the opening round, knocking the younger fighter down twice. Almeida didn’t crumble under the pressure of bad situations, instead coming out for Round 2 and landing a beautiful flying knee that knocked Pickett out cold at the 0:24 mark of Round 2.
