Filed under: Featured , News , UFC , Videos Daniel Cormier ’s first defense of the UFC light heavyweight championship was every bit the battle that many expected it to be, but Cormier can feel accomplished in walking away with the gold after a war with Alexander Gustafsson . The light heavyweight title bout was the main event of today’s UFC 192 event at Toyota Center in Houston. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. A huge slam early from Cormier (17-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) appeared to have the champ on his way to a dominant win, but Gustafsson (16-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC) showed the kind of heart that made him a star in his first shot at the title, a unanimous decision loss to Jon Jones at UFC 165.
