Filed under: News , UFC , Videos Nate Diaz welcomed Conor McGregor to welterweight at UFC 196. It just wasn’t a warm welcome for “The Notorious.” The welterweight bout was the co-main event of the UFC 196 event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. While McGregor had success on the feet, cutting Diaz with punches, he didn’t seem able to land shots that hurt his taller opponent. Diaz continued to work straight punches, poking and prodding until he rocked the Irishman with a shot in Round 2 that turned out to be the beginning of the end.
