Filed under: Featured , News , UFC It was far from an easy night of work for Tony Ferguson , but a third-round triangle choke got Kevin Lee to tap and “El Cucuy” is the UFC’s newest champion. Ferguson (24-3 MMA, 14-1 UFC) tapped Lee (16-3 MMA, 9-3 UFC) with a third-round triangle choke to become the UFC’s interim lightweight champion. The tap came at the 4:02 mark in the third. Ferguson now puts himself in line for a possible title unification fight against champ Conor McGregor. The interim lightweight title bout was the main event of today’s UFC 216 event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
