After a few less-than-thrilling fights, the welterweight main-card bout between Geoff Neal and Niko Price looked on paper to be just the thing to bring the crowd at Rogers Place in Edmonton back into it. And indeed, the Canadian fans, as well as those watching at home, got what they wanted. The duo lived up to their reputations as exciting competitors, going back and forth before Neal (12-2 MMA, 4-0 UFC) pulled away in the second round and won via TKO. The time of the stoppage was the 2:39 mark of the middle round. “It was a wild one,” Neal said. “But I was kind of expecting that, it was all expected.” Both fighters had their moments in the frenetic opening round, which went all over the place.
