Lerone Murphy used perfect timing to viciously knock out Makwan Amirkhani at UFC 267 . After getting controlled by Amirkhani (16-6 MMA, 6-4 UFC) in the clinch and on the mat in the opening round of their featherweight bout, Murphy (11-0-1 MMA, 3-0-1 UFC) had no intention of going back to the canvas in the second round at the Etihad Arena on “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi. When Amirkhani shot for a takedown right off the bat in the second round, Murphy countered with a perfectly timed stepping right knee that caught Amirkhani clean on the jaw.
