It was a struggle, but Khamzat Chimaev ultimately made weight for UFC 267 . Chimaev needed two attempts technically (three in reality) to hit the welterweight mark Friday at the official weigh-ins after coming in half a pound over 171 on his first try . Chimaev, set to compete for the first time in 13 months since his battle with COVID-19 , was the last fighter to the scale before the two-hour window closed. He was given an extra a hour and made 171 the third time he stepped on the scale. Prior to that on his second try, Chimaev registered an announced weight of 166 that was attributed to a scale malfunction. The early weigh-ins took place at the UFC host hotel in Abu Dhabi and preceded the ceremonial weigh-ins for the fans at Etihad Arena
