The UFC 294 fight card went through a late shakeup when headliner Charles Oliveira was forced out of his rematch with Makhachev due to a nasty cut and Paulo Costa was removed from his co-main event slot against Chimaev after having surgery weeks before the event. In true warrior spirit featherweight champion Volkanovski stepped in to face Makhachev in a rematch and former welterweight titleholder Usman agreed to take on Chimaev on late notice
