NEW YORK – The stage is set for Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira to determine a new light heavyweight champion at UFC 295 following Friday’s ceremonial weigh-ins. After making weight earlier in the day, Prochazka (29-3-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) and Pereira (8-2 MMA, 5-1 UFC) posed for fans, media and the camera before engaging in one final staredown before sharing the octagon in the headlining act of Saturday’s card at Madison Square Garden. The 205-pound belt has been passed around to multiple fighters in recent years, including Prochazka who vacated it in November 2022 due to injury . He will attempt to resume his reign, while turning back former middleweight champion Pereira, who looks to become the 10th fighter in UFC history to earn two divisional titles win his a single career.
