The result was a bloody decision victory for Covington (13-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC), who battered Maia (25-8 MMA, 19-8 UFC) down the stretch to win the fight on all three judges’ scorecards, clocking scores of 29-27, 30-27, and 30-26. The welterweight bout was the co-main event of today’s UFC Fight Night 119 event at Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo.
