Gilbert Urbina looked better than ever in his first octagon win. Urbina (7-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) stopped Orion Cosce (8-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) by second-round TKO in their welterweight bout at UFC Fight Night 224 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Urbina looked fast and sharp right off the bat, almost finishing Cosce in Round 1. Cosce survived the round, but held onto his ribs as he walked over to his corner. Urbina took note of that and it was a front kick to the ribs which folded Cosce, followed by a knee which led to the TKO finish at the 2:55 mark of Round 2 (via Twitter ): Gilbert Urbina was locked and loaded for the TKO #UFCVegas73 pic.twitter.com/ikCRXq2hph — ESPN MMA (@espnmma) May 20, 2023 After dropping his UFC debut to Bryan Battle in the Season 29 “Ultimate Fighter Finale,” Urbina scored his first octagon win.
