Middleweight Tim Boetsch (18-7 MMA, 9-6 UFC) said he wasn’t discouraged by a tough first round and cut opened by opponent Brad Tavares (12-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC) at their meeting at UFC Fight Night 47. He felt confident he could turn the tables if he could just land his right hand. “There was a sense of urgency, but I knew all I had to do was (hit him) with my right hand, and the game would change drastically,” Boetsch said following Saturday’s event at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine.
