While you might think that the first-time UFC octagon jitters, an 11-fight winning streak or a first-ever MMA trip to the U.S. would be Valmir Lazaro ‘s primary concern, it’s actually much simpler than that. The fighter, who’s pieced together a solid pro career in his native Brazil since his pro debut in 2007, will step into MMA’s biggest stage on Saturday. Not only does Lazaro (12-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) make his promotional debut tonight at UFC Fight Night 49, he does it in a FOX Sports 1-televised bout against lightweight James Vick (5-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC). The bout takes place at BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla.
