UFC lightweight veteran Gleison Tibau fought for the twenty-third time inside the Octagon on Saturday when he took on Piotr Hallman in Brasilia, Brazil and earned his fifteenth UFC win. Tibau came out aggressive, landing kicks to the body.  He pressured Hallman, catching him with right hands.  Hallman weathered the early assault and started forcing Tibau to move backwards with kicks to the midsection.  Whoever was moving forward, was having success in the opening round. Tibau landed a spinning back fist in the opening moments of the second frame that stunned Hallman.  He pressed forward, but Hallman tied him up and recovered.  As the round wore on, Tibau used his size and strength to muscle Hallman inside the clinch position. Hallman picked up the pace in the final round, but it opened himself up to be taken down.  The 27-year-old quickly got back to his feet.  While working for position along the cage, Hallman delivered a knee that opened a cut over the left eye of Tibau. A doctor was called in to check the cut.  He allowed Tibau to continue.  Hallman continued to deliver knees to the body, forcing Tibau to try and get the fight to the ground.  The fight ended with Tibau pressing Hallman against the cage. After fifteen minutes of fighting, the judges scored the fight for Tibau by split decision.  The win moved Tibau’s record to 30-10 and officially got him back on a winning streak with back-to-back victories in his last two outings.
