STOCKHOLM – One hard right hand from Max Holloway (11-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC) put Akira Corassani (12-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC) down. Another one put him out. Just to be sure, he went ahead and landed a few more punches as referee Kristian Hacklou took his time stopping the bout, eventually waving it off at the 3:11 mark of Round 1 and bringing to a violent close an impressive knockout win for Holloway. The featherweight bout co-headlined today’s UFC Fight Night 53 event. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass from Ericsson Globe in Stockholm. Although it was Holloway who landed the decisive blows in this fight, it was Corassani who landed the first significant ones.
