Officials recently kicked off the event with a press conference, and a trio of new matchups were included: welterweights Warlley Alves (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) vs. Alan Jouban (10-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC), middleweights Caio Magalhaes (8-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) vs. Trevor Smith (12-5 MMA, 2-2 UFC), and welterweights Colby Covington (6-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) vs. Wagner Silva (3-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC).
