FAIRFAX, Va. – A crushing right hand from Chad Mendes  sent Ricardo Lamas  sagging to his knees early in the first round. A patient, yet vicious followup from Mendes (17-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) sealed the deal as Lamas (15-4 MMA, 6-2 UFC) proved unable to recover even after a game effort to battle back into the fight, resulting in a TKO stoppage at the 2:45 mark of Round 1. The featherweight bout headlined today’s UFC Fight Night 63 event at Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va.
