Sean Strickland SAN DIEGO – For much of the first round, Sean Strickland seemed no more than one or two clean strikes away from putting Igor Araujo away. Somehow, Araujo (25-8 MMA, 2-2 UFC) kept him from landing that decisive blow, forcing Strickland (16-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) to settle for a unanimous decision victory (30-26, 30-26, 30-27) after dominating all three rounds. The welterweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 71 event at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following additional prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of a main card on FOX Sports 1
