Filed under: News , UFC , Videos NASHVILLE – The fans in attendance may not have agreed with the stoppage, but Derek Brunson seemed plenty happy with his first round TKO of Sam Alvey at UFC Fight Night 72. The middleweight bout was part of the main card of today’s UFC Fight Night 73 event at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on FOX Sports 2 and UFC Fight Pass. Brunson (14-3 MMA, 5-1 UFC) continued his impressive run, stinging Alvey (26-7 MMA, 3-2 UFC) with big punches before chasing him down and dropping him to the canvas with a crushing shot. While Alvey wasn’t out cold, he went down in a way that caused the referee to call a halt to the bout at the 2:19 mark of Round 1. Check out the video highlights above
