Chris Camozzi NASHVILLE – Riding a sharp jab and a series of easy takedowns, Chris Camozzi outpointed Tom Watson in a grinding three-round battle that saw Watson (17-9 MMA, 2-5 UFC) deducted a point for low blows. But as the quicker, fresher fighter throughout, Camozzi (22-10 MMA, 7-7 UFC) didn’t need that help on the scorecards, as he won a unanimous decision victory with scores of 29-27, 30-26, 29-27. The middleweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 73 event at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. It aired on FOX Sports 2 following additional prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of a main card on FOX Sports 1. The keys for Camozzi in this fight were takedowns and hand speed. He had Watson beat in both departments, and he exploited those advantages early and often, peppering Watson with jabs and wearing him down with one takedown after another.
