Frankie Perez SASKATOON – After a loss on short notice in his UFC debut, Frankie Perez made good on his promise to show his potential against veteran Sam Stout . Then, he surprised just about everybody with an announcement. Perez (10-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) said his 54-second knockout of Stout (21-12-1 MMA, 9-11 UFC) would be his last fight, capping off a career at 12 professional fights, including two in the UFC’s octagon. The lightweight bout closed out the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 74 event at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following additional prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of a main card on FOX Sports 1. The retirement of Stout might’ve seem more likely and more appropriate, given that the Canadian veteran has suffered three straight knockout losses in a career spanning over a decade.
