Michel Prazeres MONTERREY, Mexico – Michel Prazeres tried a variety of tactics to get inside Valmir Lazaro ’s reach, from lunging hooks to desperate takedown attempts. While neither approach was especially successful, Prazeres (19-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) apparently stayed busy enough to impress the judges, beating Lazaro (13-4 MMA, 1-2 UFC) via split-decision (29-28, 28-29. 29-28) after three close rounds. The lightweight bout opened up the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 78 event at Monterrey Arena in Monterrey, Mexico.
