Ricardo Lamas MONTERREY, Mexico – Ricardo Lamas stubbornly resisted Diego Sanchez ’s best efforts to instigate a brawl, even when he had a proverbial leg up in exchanges. Despite hobbling Sanchez (25-8 MMA, 14-8 UFC) in the second round, Lamas (16-4 MMA, 7-2 UFC) stayed patient and put together winning combinations to pitch a shutout on the judges’ scorecards. The featherweight bout was the co-main event of today’s UFC Fight Night 78 event at Monterrey Arena in Monterrey, Mexico. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. The final scorecards were unanimously 30-27 for Lamas, who returned to the win column after being denied a title shot with a first-round TKO loss to Chad Mendes in April. Sanchez, fighting for the first time at 145 pounds, is now 1-3 in his past four outings
