Benson Henderson SEOUL – In his second fight as a UFC welterweight, Benson Henderson edged fellow ex-lightweight Jorge Masvidal in a close, technical contest. Over five rounds, Henderson (23-5 MMA, 11-3 UFC) used his trademark weapons – a solid straight left, body kick and grinding wrestling – to keep Masvidal (29-10 MMA, 6-3 UFC) off balance and secure a split-decision win. The welterweight bout headlined today’s UFC Fight Night 79 event at Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass. The final scores were 48-47 twice for Henderson with one judge dissenting for Masvidal, reflecting the narrow margin on which the bouts was contested. There were no close calls, and both men wore their extra bulk in the later rounds as the action evolved into a grapplling-heavy affair.
