Francisco Trinaldo BOSTON – Francisco Trinaldo might not have finished quite as strong as he started, but after battering Ross Pearson with brutal combos and frustrating him with an evasive style in the first two rounds, he didn’t need to. Those early efforts were enough to overcome a late third-round push by Pearson (18-10 MMA, 11-7 UFC), resulting in a unanimous decision victory for Trinaldo (19-4 MMA, 9-3 UFC) with scores of 30-27, 29-28, and 30-27. The lightweight bout opened up the main card of today’s UFC Fight Night 81 event at TD Garden in Boston.
