Filed under: Featured Videos , News , UFC , Videos BOSTON – UFC light heavyweight Ed Herman has one very easy way to gauge the effect of his decision to move up a weight class: He can better take a punch. “My last fight, I got TKOd for the first time in 40 fights,” Herman (23-11 MMA, 10-8 UFC) said on Sunday backstage after UFC Fight Night 81, where he defeated Tim Boetsch (18-10 MMA, 9-9 UFC) on the FOX Sports 1-televised prelims at Boston’s TD Garden. “The weight cut could have had something to do with that.” Of course, it could also be that Herman was simply the more accurate fighter against his fellow veteran. This time around, he dealt the deciding blow; a knee flush to the chin sent Boetsch to the canvas and set up a TKO victory. It was Herman’s first UFC fight since his aforementioned TKO loss, which came one year ago against Derek Brunson at UFC 183. Herman, 35, is sure that fighting lighter, with its concurrent effect on the fluid surrounding the brain, probably isn’t good for him in the long term
