PITTSBURGH – Newer MMA fans may forget onetime UFC lightweight title challenger Donald Cerrone was once known for having a great triangle choke. But in a welterweight bout against Alex Oliveira , they were quickly reminded. When Oliveira (14-3-1 MMA, 3-2 UFC) landed a three-punch combo, Cerrone (29-7 MMA, 16-4 UFC) took the fight down and quickly advanced to mount, where he set up a picture-perfect submission in the first round. “Thirtieth walk – how crazy is that,” said Cerrone, who notched his 16th win in the UFC in his 20th performance with the promotion with 30 under the UFC and now-defunct WEC banners combined. The welterweight bout was the main event of today’s UFC Fight Night 83 event at CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
