BRISBANE, Australia – Damien Brown did his best to overcome a tough opponent on short notice but had no answer for the top game of Alan Patrick . The lightweight bout opened today’s UFC Fight Night 85 event at Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass before additional prelims and the main card moved to FOX Sports 1. Patrick (13-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) took the fight to the ground immediately, but almost found himself locked up in a guillotine choke. After a brief exchange on the ground, Brown (15-9 MMA, 0-1 UFC) worked to his feet only to almost get guillotine choked himself. In the ensuing scramble, Patrick worked to top position. After more back-and-forth action on the ground, the men worked back to their feet where Brown landed a heavy hook but was unable to capitalize before being put on his back again.
