Filed under: News , UFC , Videos Jeremy Stephens didn’t provide a very warm welcome to the featherweight division for Renan Barao , taking a unanimous decision victory over the former bantamweight champion. The featherweight bout co-headlined the UFC Fight Night 88 event at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on the same channel and UFC Fight Pass. Barao (33-4 MMA, 9-2 UFC) looked sharp early, but it was Stephens (25-12 MMA, 12-11 UFC) who made the necessary adjustments after the opening round. He repeatedly clipped Barao with heavy punches, and while the former champ was able to take them and remain standing, the pressure and power striking was simply too much. Barao never backed down, but did appear to wilt as Stephens landed shots and grinned.
