UFC lightweight Leandro Silva hasn’t been beaten since 2014 but still seems to be mostly remembered by a blatant refereeing error that was ultimately not his fault. At UFC Fight Night 62, his fight against Drew Dober was called to a stop after the referee in charge saw a tap that never happened on his opponent’s end. The mistake was so flagrant that the Comissao Atletica Brasileira de MMA (CABMMA) – the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission – decided to overturn the result . Now, heading into his UFC Fight Night 89 scrap against Josh Saggo (11-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC), Silva (19-3 MMA, 3-1 UFC) looks back on the incident with a mix of dissatisfaction and hopes of moving on.
