PORTLAND, Ore. – Brandon Moreno made his UFC debut against an opponent who was a 5-1 favorite in Louis Smolka . Less than three minutes into the opening round, Moreno (12-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) locked up a guillotine choke on Smolka (11-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) and kept after it until Smolka seemed to lose consciousness just as he tapped, bringing a stop to the fight at the 2:23 mark of Round 1. The flyweight bout opened up the main card of today’s UFC Fight Night 96 event at Moda Center in Portland, Ore.
