SAN JOSE – Still on the mend from a personal tragedy, Bobby Green feinted and stalked his way to a close win over former Strikeforce champion Josh Thomson . In a quirky bout between two guys with a flare for getting into opponents’ heads, Green (23-5 MMA, 4-0 UFC) consistently beat Thomson (20-7 MMA, 3-3 UFC) to the punch to earn scores of 29-28 twice. A third judge dissented with a 29-28 score for “The Punk.” The lightweight bout was part of today’s UFC on FOX 12 main card at San Jose’s SAP Center. The majority of the card aired on FOX following select prelims on UFC Fight Pass. The guy doing most of the punking in the cage, at least verbally, was Green, who provided a running commentary on his and his opponent’s efforts as he walked down Thomson.
