SAN JOSE – Mike De La Torre (12-5 MMA, 0-2 UFC) came out swinging, but undefeated newcomer Brian Ortega (9-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) stayed calm and seized an opportunity to turn the tables. Ortega, a former RFA featherweight champ, hopped on De La Torre’s back after the initial flurry and cinched a rear-naked choke to put his opponent to sleep. The featherweight bout was part of today’s UFC on FOX 12 preliminary card at San Jose’s SAP Center. It aired on FOX following select prelims on UFC Fight Pass
