Alexander Yakovlev NEWARK, N.J. – For most of their brief fight, Alexander Yakovlev ’s offense consisted of takedowns that planted George Sullivan on his back. Then one heavy right hand sent Sullivan (17-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC) crashing to the canvas, and just like that Yakovlev (23-6-1 MMA, 2-2 UFC) had himself a victory via TKO at the mark of Round 1. The welterweight bout was part of today’s UFC on FOX 18 preliminary card at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
