KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Aljamain Sterling’s wrestling skills were on point, as usual, against Augusto Mendes. But perhaps more than ever, Sterling (13-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) showed a willingness to stand in the pocket and trade with Mendes (6-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC), and it paid off with a unanimous decision. The bantamweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC on FOX 24 event at Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass ahead of additional prelims and a main card on FOX.
