UFC president Dana White joined tennis great Andre Agassi and several other notables Friday night as the latest inductees of the Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame. The ceremony was held at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. “To be honored in a place that I love, that I call home, I love this city and for them to induct me, it really does mean a lot,” said White to FOX5 news. Honored not just for his role in saving the UFC brand, taking the sport of mixed martial arts into the mainstream, and making it an international juggernaut, the 43-year-old White was also recognized for his charitable work in the community and for his efforts to keep Las Vegas the “Fight Capital of the World.” Previous inductees include the Fertitta family, Marc Ratner, former UNLV basketball stars Larry Johnson, Greg Anthony, and Stacey Augmon, coach Jerry Tarkanian, MLB pitcher Greg Maddux, and former NFL quarterback Randall Cunningham.
