Georges St-Pierre UFC President Dana White isn’t buying what Georges St-Pierre is selling in regards to a potential comeback to UFC competition. St-Pierre (25-2 MMA, 19-2 UFC), the UFC’s former longtime welterweight champion, celebrated the two-year anniversary of his most recent fight on Nov. 16. He vacated the 170-pound title and took a hiatus from the sport in December 2013 and speculation about a return has run rampant ever since. Although the discussion was put on hold when St-Pierre suffered a knee injury shortly after walking away from his title, it’s gained plenty of traction in recent months as “Rush” has been at full health and training vigorously . The potential comeback took another step forward in recent weeks when one of St-Pierre’s coaches, Freddie Roach, revealed that the French-Canadian superstar had plans to set up a six-week training camp to determine whether he’s physically and mentally fit to end his hiatus and step in the octagon once again.
