The pair of fighters were originally slated to headline a UFC event in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada on that date. However, the card was canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. A winner of three in a row, Blaydes (13-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) is coming off back-to-back stoppage wins over Shamil Abdurakhimov and former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos .
