When the UFC looked like it was doing away with their flyweight division, one of the newest members of the weight class started preparing himself for life back at bantamweight. But now it seems the flyweights are here to stay, Mark De La Rosa is determined to make his mark and establish himself as a brand new contender in a rebooted 125-pound division. De La Rosa (11-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) returns to action against Kai Kara-France at UFC on ESPN+ 15 in Shenzhen, China in what should be an exciting matchup at 125 pounds as the American looks to hand the New Zealand striker his first loss in eight fights. For Texas native De La Rosa, the prospect of traveling halfway around the world for a prizefight could have been daunting. But, speaking to MMA Junkie from Shenzhen, he said he was more than happy to make the trip. “That’s why I started fighting, to travel and fight the best in the world, no matter where it leads,” he said.
