Joseph Benavidez The popular and reasonable opinion on UFC flyweight Joseph Benavidez ‘s career is that he faces a long road to a title, and he may never get another shot at one. Two losses to current champ Demetrious Johnson have limited Benavidez’s options for advancement. As long as Johnson holds the belt, it will take some convincing to get the UFC to book a third match, and to get the champ to agree to it. Benavidez likely will have a job in the UFC as long as he wants it. Whether he does with a title out of reach is another matter. Benavidez (20-4 MMA, 7-2 UFC) isn’t ready to throw in the towel.
