Bantamweight prospect Eli “Tomahawk” Tamez has quickly established himself as one of the top up-and-coming young fighters on the Texas fight scene. Since he turned pro in 2011, Tamez has won all seven of his fights, including his most recent bout in February where he faced an opponent who was definitely motivated to get the win against him. “I had fought Nelson Salas before as an amateur and I beat him (then) with a first-round triangle choke, and he had actually lost to two of my teammates, so I knew he wouldn’t want to lose again,” Tamez told MMAWeekly.com.
