UFC 209 had some interesting moments, to be certain – and some epic comebacks. In the UFC 209 main event, welterweight champion Tyron Woodley (17-3-1 MMA, 7-2-1 UFC) retained his title with a majority decision win over Stephen Thompson (13-2-1 MMA, 8-2-1 UFC) – but one that was a little controversial in terms of the scorecards. So that big fight didn’t provide any movement. But at featherweight, Darren Elkins (22-5 MMA, 12-4 UFC) turned in a monumental comeback when he knocked out Mirsad Bektic (11-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) with a head kick in the third round after being down 20-17 – and a bloody mess – heading into the final frame. Elkins took a big jump from unranked to ahead of hte previously unbeaten Bektic at 145 pounds.
