Nick Diaz ’s return didn’t go as planned at UFC 266 . One of the biggest stars in MMA made his long-awaited return to the octagon on Saturday’s event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. He had some solid moments in the fight, but ultimately Diaz (26-10 MMA, 7-7 UFC) suffered a third-round TKO loss to Robbie Lawler (29-15 MMA, 14-9 UFC), who he’d beaten in their first meeting back in April 2004. Many believed Diaz would never step back in a UFC cage after more than six years away from fighting.
