Rousey’s mom, judo legend AnnMaria De Mars, still is up to her old tricks, though. Rousey, the UFC’s women’s bantamweight champ, told some stories about her mom while at a fan Q&A session this past week in Macau for UFC Fight Night 48. Included among them was a tale about to this day, not liking to have her back open because her mom trained her in choke defense by sneaking up behind her. “I kind of have this tic where I don’t like my back being open – I sit in a restaurant and I want to face the door and things like that – because I would just sit in the living room watching TV and my mom would sneak behind me and throw me in a rear-naked choke on the regular,” Rousey said.
