At UFC 199 two weeks ago, the California State Athletic Commission instituted a new policy that allowed fighters to weigh in starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, the day before the event, rather than the normal time of 4 p.m. That became their official weight, which meant a fighter could have as much as seven hours of additional time to rehydrate and re-energize. That was the case again today at the weigh-ins for UFC Fight Night 89, which takes place Saturday at The Arena at TD Place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The main card airs on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on FOX Sports 2 and UFC Fight Pass.
