Filed under: News , UFC , Videos When Matt Serra met Georges St-Pierre in the main event of UFC 69, very few people expected the veteran to make it through two rounds, let alone walk away with the belt. Instead, Serra (11-7 MMA, 7-7 UFC), who earned his title shot by winning the welterweight bracket of “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 4, clipped St-Pierre (25-2 MMA, 19-2 UFC) with a wild punch and put him on rubber legs. The follow-up assault from Serra brought the bout to an end at the 3:25 mark of Round 1. Serra walked away with the belt in the shocking upset and handed St-Pierre his only loss in 19 fights from 2005 to his retirement in 2013. St-Pierre won the title back from Serra one year later at UFC 83, but the fight served to cement Serra’s place in MMA histry.
